Sustainability

Sustainability

I am committed to sustainability and see everyone as responsible to do what they can to reduce carbon emissions.

Sustainability Areas

I provide fair employment conditions to contractors and do not use child labour or forced labour. I employ contractors and subcontractors from diverse backgrounds, without discrimination on the basis of race, gender or disability.

I use resources efficiently and reduce waste as much as possible, by going paperless, recycling paper and plastic, and buying less. I choose eco-friendly alternatives whenever possible. I save water when possible e.g. the kettle is boiled with as little water as possible. I use very little transport for work. My business uses zero packaging and does not physically deliver products. The office energy is renewable. I have energy efficient light bulbs. The appliances are turned off when out of use (instead of put on standby).

Supply Chain Transparency

I choose sustainable suppliers whenever possible for email, digital storage, hosting, scheduling, and advertising. For example, my website hosting is with a business that uses renewable electricity to run their servers.

When I develop a website, I use ethical software suppliers and make the websites as efficient as possible to use less resources.

When I advertise on behalf of clients with large corporations there is a carbon footprint which I am to reduce in the future or if this is not possible, to offset the carbon emissions.

I have assessed my business carbon footprint for the business and calculated the carbon emissions that are caused by client advertising for 2024.

2024 notes

  • Office is B rated for energy efficiency, to improve this would require solar panels which are not currently possible
  • Energy is supplied by a renewable energy company with green gas
  • My recommended web host uses renewable energy
  • Top energy users are my computers & advertising causes the highest carbon emissions

Sustainability Goals and Objectives

  • To reassess my carbon footprint every year
  • To review scope 3 emissions caused by 3rd party suppliers e.g. banking
  • To reduce or offset carbon emissions from advertising
